John van der Put (born 9 June 1980), known as Piff the Magic Dragon, is a magician and comedian from the United Kingdom. He currently lives in Las Vegas with Mr. Piffles, the "World’s First Magic Performing Chihuahua."〔("Piff The Magic Dragon Bio | The Grable Group" )〕 ==Biography== Van der Put grew up in South East London. After attending university, he began his career in IT before moving into magic.〔 After many years of corporate gigs, he developed Piff the Magic Dragon.〔 Van der Put's act consists of self-deprecating humour and deadpan delivery while dressed up in a green, red, and yellow dragon costume. He also has an assistant known as "Mr. Piffles", a chihuahua in a matching dragon costume. John van der Put appeared in ''Penn & Teller: Fool Us'' and has over 12 million YouTube hits to his name. Piff the Magic Dragon has performed in venues such as Radio City Music Hall, Shakespeare’s Globe, the O2, London Opera House and Sydney Opera House. His solo show has had five runs at the Edinburgh Fringe, two sell-out seasons at Soho Theatre in London’s West End and a national tour of the UK and Australia. He was the opening act for Mumford & Sons on their 17 date UK tour and has just completed a six month residency at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in their flagship show "Vegas Nocturne". He is also seen in the Mumford & Sons album cover, ''Babel'', behind the band. He is a member of The Magic Circle, and is known as one of the youngest members to lecture at the circle.
